The Pre-Flight Check

Before any flight, a pilot walks the aircraft. Not because they expect to find something wrong, but because assumptions are the one thing an instrument panel cannot measure.

The twenty-five statements that follow read your five adaptive capacities the way a panel reads an aircraft: without flattery and without judgement. There are no right answers, and a low reading is not a verdict. It is information — the same kind a fuel gauge offers, and offered in the same spirit.

Answer for how you actually operate on an ordinary Tuesday, not for how you operate on your best day. The panel is only useful if you let it read you honestly. Nothing you enter here is stored or sent anywhere.

Panel Reading

Your instruments

Five capacities, read from your own answers. Readings run from 1.0 to 5.0. No instrument stays calibrated forever; the question is only which one to attend to first.

“Instruments do not tell you where to fly. They tell you the truth about where you are.” This check is a starting point, not a diagnosis. Retake it in three months and compare the readings — the difference between two honest readings is the only progress worth logging.
